Fascinujúca postava hlavného hrdinu Owena Meanyho, osudy ktorého podáva autor prostredníctvom monológu jeho najlepšieho priateľa, je nielen symbolom doby, všetkých jej protirečení a tragédií stelesnených najmä vojnou, ale aj symbolom ľudskej viery, porozumenia a obety v prospech dobra a lásky k blížnemu. Ústami nezvyčajného chlapca a neskôr mladého muža, malého vzrastom, ale veľkého duchom, ktorý svojimi životnými postojmi priam magicky ovplyvňuje životy ľudí okolo seba.

Charlie Trumper's dreams of running his grandfather's Eat London fruit and vegetable barrow are realized when his grandfather dies, but the onset of War World I takes him into the path of a dangerous enemy whose legacy of evil follows Charlie and his family for generations.

Perhaps best known as the author of the ground-breaking The Second Sex, Simone de Beauvoir was a writer and a thinker of wide range--one of the great minds of the 20th century. This magnificent biography should become the definitive account of her life. 16 pages of black-and-white photographs.

Vydanie v rámci filozofickej bibliotéky ponúka úplný text oboch originálnych vydaní z rokov 1781 a 1787.

Bloemlezing
