Komentované překlady mladých českých egyptoložek – texty staroegyptských dopisů z různých částí Egypta a z různých období egyptské historie.

Výpravný katalog v češtině a angličtině doplňuje výstavu Sluneční králové, která probíhala v Národním muzeu v Praze od 1. září 2020 do 31. září 2021. Výstava mapovala více než sto let archeologického výzkumu lokality Abúsír, prováděného egyptskými, německými a českými misemi. Obsahuje 139 záznamů o téměř 300 předmětech z období raně dynastického až ptolemaiovského, včetně královské pohřební výbavy krále Raneferefa, soch kněze Nefera a princezny Šeretnebty, a předmětů ze sajsko-perských šachtových hrobek. Tyto vzácné objekty vyprávějí příběh starověké egyptské civilizace a jejích tvůrců, a katalog tak mapuje existenci a vývoj lokality Abúsír po téměř tři tisíce let.

Kniha představuje přehled gramatiky klasické egyptštiny, tedy jazyka, jímž jsou psány klasické literární texty Střední říše, ale též celá řada literárních a náboženských textů pozdějších období. Jejím cílem je seznámit českou odbornou i laickou veřejnost se základními rysy staroegyptského jazyka a to se zohledněním nejnovějších výzkumů v této oblasti. Společně s pracovním sešitem, který obsahuje cvičení ke všem hlavním rysům gramatiky klasické egyptštiny a soubor základních textů, kniha může sloužit i jako učebnice klasické egyptštiny pro samouky.

Česko-anglická obrazová celobarevná publikace mapuje život včetně života přírody a jeho odrazu v prastaré egyptské kultuře na březích afrického veletoku.

Tato kniha obsahuje překlady a komentáře staroegyptských milostných písní, včetně těch z větších "sbírek", které byly již přeloženy do několika jazyků a jsou odborné veřejnosti známy. Začíná výčtem písní, které byly přeloženy na základě starších i mladších prací. Dále obsahuje písně objevené na ostrakách, z nichž některé byly přeloženy pouze jednou nebo vůbec. Tato sbírka představuje dosud nejucelenější soubor egyptských milostných písní, které dokládají bohatost staroegyptské literární tradice a vyjadřovacích prostředků. Citový svět starých Egypťanů, ovlivněný sociálními a kulturními faktory, se v tomto idealizovaném svědectví jeví jako velmi bohatý. I když je složité hodnotit univerzální platnost obsahu a formy vyjádření lidských citů, tyto písně nám poskytují pocit blízkosti k dávným lidem a slouží jako vodítko ve světě citů a intenzivního prožitku lásky a touhy. Ačkoliv můžeme pochybovat o jejich odrazu společenské reality, jistě reflektují realitu citů jednotlivých lidí. Kohoutové a R. Měřinského, který je autorem skladeb.

Schopnost přizpůsobovat se okolnímu prostředí patří k významným znakům všech živých organismů. Autory knihy zaujalo, jak výrazně se adaptabilita rozvíjela jednak při vývoji předchůdců lidí, jednak při vývoji našich jednotlivých civilizací, tedy obecně v historii Homo sapiens. Lidská schopnost adaptovat se na změny prostředí se proměňovala od prvotního pouhého pasivního přizpůsobování se přes zvýšený podíl aktivity u druhů Homo až k tvůrčí adaptabilitě, kterou nalézáme u Homo sapiens. Značná pozornost je věnována zásadní revoluci v dějinách lidstva, tedy vzniku a rozvoji zemědělství, a jejím důsledkům, které vedly k nové strukturalizaci lidské společnosti. Tvůrčí adaptabilita je pak podrobně popsána na příkladu rozvoje egyptské kultury. Autoři však nezastírají možné negativní stránky civilizačního rozvoje a poskytují nové pohledy na překonávání těchto potíží a na zrod a vývoj vě

The volume represents the first part of a planned two-volume series. It presents biographical texts from stelae of Dynasties 11-12 in hieroglyphs, transliteration and translation. The texts are arranged by dynasty, and within the two dynasties by provenance. The second volume will contain biographical texts on tomb walls and rocks, as well as detailed commentaries to texts presented in both volumes.

The second volume of the library catalogue, covering chiefly the sections on Archaeology and Philology. The Catalogue covers the library fund from the beginning of the existence of Prague Egyptological seminar, through the enlargement due to Jaroslav Cermy's donation in the 1970s, and ends with new acquisitions up to year 2000.

This is a useful listing of the volumes in the library of the Institute of Egyptology, a helpful source of bibliographic information. While this sort of information is nowadays better presented online, the volume may be of interest to scholars because of the titles from Eastern Europe and Russia which the Czech Institute has available in its collections.

In the course of the exploration of the funerary temple of King Neferre, the expedition of the Czech Institute of Egyptology discovered about 2000 fragments of faience inlays and tablets of Egyptian blue bearing texts and scenes in relief. The present volume contains the full description, analysis and interpretation of this unique find. The evidence, analysed by the author in archaeological and historical context, suggests that the inlays (and probably also the tablets of Egyptian blue) had once decorated wooden shrines containing the statues of the king, and the functional analysis of their motifs indicates that the inlays and tablets in all likelihood formed a substitute of the relief decoration that was missing in the temple of Neferre. The volume contains a separate chapter with the mineralogical analysis of several samples of both faience and Egyptian blue, studied in transmitted light using the Axiolab microscope, and on the microprobe Cameca SX 100 at the Department of geological sciences, Masaryk University Brno.

The complete collection of ancient Egyptian love songs, whose texts were first written down in the Ramesside period, is treated in the context of other period sources regarding intimacy and sexuality. The process of gendering and socialising in relation to sexuality is also introduced. The volume will also contain overview tables - ostraca or papyri, their site(s), documentation), publications, etc. Statistics or quantification of some lexical and semantic units in the songs is attempted. The volume consists of an introductory study and commented texts of the songs, grouped thematically. Includes CD.

The tomb published in this volume is the third large Late Period shaft tomb that has been excavated in the south-western part of the Abusir cemetery. It belongs to Menekhibnekau, who held a number of important titles (among the "General," "Overseer of Libyans," "Overseer of the kbnwt-vessels," etc) under Ahmose II and may have lived until the beginning of Dynasty 27. Although his tomb had been robbed, a number of important and interesting pieces from his burial equipment, including a seal of the necropolis and a faience menit with the name of Ahmose II, have been found in his burial chamber. In a separate shaft, large embalmer's cache has been found that contained more than three hundred large storage vessels and a number of smaller receptacles of different kind. On many of them, short inscriptions were preserved that often mention materials used during the mummification process including the presupposed dates of their use. In the excursi, texts from the embalmer's deposit, Phoenician and Aramaic inscriptions on a Phoenician storage jar and a xylotomic analysis of wooden objects from the embalmer's deposit are published. The religious texts and scenes that originally had decorated the burial chamber should appear in the second volume of this book (presently under preparation).
