Josephine Daskam Bacon bola všestranná americká autorka, ktorá sa preslávila najmä svojimi ženskými protagonistkami. Tvorila pre mladých čitateľov aj diela zaoberajúce sa vážnejšími témami a publikovala oceňované básne, z ktorých niektoré boli zhudobnené. Vo svojej tvorbe sa venovala „ženským otázkam“ a úlohám žien v spoločnosti. Bola tiež priekopníčkou v skautskom hnutí a zostavila preň príručku.

Sie erinnert sich an Erzählungen der Ältesten, teilt ihr Wissen und erzählt von der Stille und Weite der Landschaft. Ihr auf Innu-Aimun und Französisch verfasstes Werk schlägt eine neue Seite in der kanadischen Literatur auf und trägt dazu bei, die Sprache der Innu am Leben zu erhalten.
