Donald Davidson patřil k nejvýznamnějším filosofům druhé poloviny dvacátého století. Tento spis (původní vyd. 2001) tvoří třetí svazek vybraných Davidsonových filosofických prací. Ústředními tématy tohoto svazku jsou problémy poznání, mysli a jazyka, především pak vztah tří druhů poznání: poznání naší mysli, poznání mysli druhých lidí a poznání předmětů a událostí ve sdíleném prostředí.
