The Syntax-Phonology Interface
This book presents a morphosyntactic account of vowel length in contemporary Czech. The present approach is strictly decompositional on both the phonological and the morphosyntactic side. It assumes prosodic affixes in contemporary Czech. The focus is on prosodic affixes which realize morphosyntactic parts of diminutives and hypocoristics.
The volume comprises papers that were presented at the 14th European conference on «Formal Description of Slavic Languages 10.5» at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. The conference focuses on formal approaches to Slavic phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. The present contributions describe interesting data patterns found in Slavic languages and analyze them from the perspective of formal grammar, including generative syntax, Distributed Morphology, formal semantics and others.
This volume comprises papers from the third half time conference Formal Description of Slavic Languages 8.5 which took place in November 2010 in Brno (Czech Republic). The papers focus on topics ranging from Slavic phonology, syntax and semantics to computational linguistics. The volume contains also a separate section which includes additional papers from the Workshop on Slavic Prefixes and Prepositions.
