Judášov prípad nie je taký jasný, ako nás učia tradície. Znovuobjavenie dávnejšie strateného Evanjelia Judáša Iškariotského elektrizovalo celú kresťanskú spoločnosť. Všetko, čo nám o Judášovi, učeníkovi, ktorý zradil Ježiša, povedali Matúš, Marek, Lukáš a John, je plné rozporov a tendenčné. A tak objav starého evanjelia, ktoré zobrazuje tohto dosiaľ iba opovrhnutiahodného muža ako človeka, ktorý chápal svoju rolu v umučení Ježiša Krista ako súčasť ďalekosiahlejšieho plánu - božského plánu - vrhá na celý príbehu nové svetlo. Ak by Judáš nezradil Ježiša, Ježiš by sa nedostal do rúk úradov, neukrižovali by ho, nepochovali a nebol by vstal z mŕtvych. Nebyť Judáša, veľkonočný zázrak by sa nekonal. Naozaj Judáš veril, že napĺňa boží plán zrodu kresťanstva?

Jidášova tajemství obsahují historický průzkum biblických písemností o Jidášovi a zmínek o něm, které byly nalezeny ve starověkých zdrojích mimo Bibli. Jidášův příběh není tak jasný, jak nás učí tradice. Note the title of the book. It is not "the concealment" but "the revelation" of Jesus Christ. It is well to mark this. For many say this book of Revelation is a mystery; it is a sealed book; God never meant nor expected His children to understand it. But the mere title of the book refutes such a view. For revelation means the "uncovering" or "unveiling" of that which has been hidden, not the concealing of it. Moreover, the next sentence declares that God gave it unto Jesus Christ "to show unto His servants." Hence we cannot defend our neglect and woeful ignorance of this wondrous book by asserting that it is not meant to be known. God says it is, and that it is given to be shown, not to be concealed. Neither does He tell us it is useless to read it.
