Jacint Verdaguer je považovaný za jedného z najväčších básnikov katalánskej literatúry a významnú postavu hnutia Renaixença. Jeho tvorba je hlboko zakorenená v náboženských a národných témach, pričom Verdaguer používa bohatý jazyk a epické formy. Verdaguerov štýl sa vyznačuje emocionálnou intenzitou a schopnosťou zachytiť podstatu svojej doby. Jeho diela mu vyniesli titul „kniežatá katalánskych básnikov“.
