Doktor Fu - Manchu, jehož jméno je povědomé mnoha českým čtenářům, právem patří mezi nejproslulejší postavy v historii detektivní literatury. Jeho tvůrce, britský spisovatel Sax Rohmer, si vytvořením této dnes již klasické postavy získal světovou slávu, jeho romány (nejen ty s doktorem Fu - Manchuem) vyšly ve světě v mnoha vydáních a velmi vysokých nákladech. U nás však v uplynulém období nemohly být vydávány, takže se s nimi naši čtenáři (s výjimkou několika sběrateli ceněných titulů vydaných ve dvacátých a třicátých letech) mohou seznámit až nyní. Rohmerovy romány, plné tajemna a napětí, si díky svému poutavému stylu stále uchovávají čtenářskou přitažlivost. V jejich vydávání se bude pokračovat.
