Die in diesem Band versammelten Vorlesungen der Tübinger Poetik-Dozentur 2014 mit Priya Basil und Chika Unigwe fordern auf zur Reflexion über eine der ältesten Fragen der Literaturgeschichte: Wie ähnlich darf und muss die Literatur der Wirklichkeit sein? Wie weit darf sich Fiktion von Wirklichkeit entfernen? Wie viel von privater oder intimer Realität darf Literatur preisgeben? Gibt es Grenzen zwischen Literatur und Dokumentation, die nicht überschritten werden dürfen – sei es aus rechtlichen, moralischen oder ästhetischen Gründen? Oder ist die Differenz zwischen Fiktivem und Faktischem mittlerweile einfach obsolet geworden? Die Vorlesungen versuchen sich aus der ganz persönlichen Perspektive von Priya Basil und -Chika Unigwe den Antworten auf diese Fragen zu nähern und geben einen besonderen Einblick in das Schreiben beider Autorinnen.
