Through a decade of photography spanning ten Western states, Stoecklein depicts the modern-day cowboy at work and at play, at sunrise, and sunset, in all kinds of weather.

Spirit of the West showcases David's most beautiful and powerful images of the working cowboys, cowgirls, and horses that he has befriended in the last fifteen years of photographing ranches across the American West. David's fascination with the American West led him to befriend, and subsequently photograph, the men and women still breathing life into the mythical figure of the cowboy.
