The Viennese 'Wagenburg' (Museum of Carriages) at Schonbrunn Palace is one of the best preserved collections of historic vehicles and horse tack. The collection houses not only the core of the Viennese Court's fleet of vehicles but also examples from various aristocratic families of the Austro-Hungarian Empire as well as carriages owned by Napoleon and his son. The collection is unusual in showing each step in the development of carriage construction, from the Baroque state coach to the automobiles of the early twentieth century.
