In recent decades, the Russian Avant-garde has been enriched by forgotten and rediscovered works. It has had to stand comparison with avant-garde movements in other countries and has gained recognition not only in Russia but also on the global artistic stage, attracting interest from art collectors and museum directors. The Otten collection features the main representatives of the Russian Avant-garde—though not all, many have long found their place in the largest art museums of major metropolises. The key moments and positions are represented, and the overall picture of the developmental trends of Russian art in the 20th century is clearly outlined and extensively documented in this publication.
