In the third millennium, the East Coalition and the West Alliance, two Earth superpowers, have yet to resolve their political disputes. Aware that a hot war would annihilate humanity's homeworld, politicians and ideologues have shifted their conflicts to human-inhabited planets in interstellar space. One such battleground is the world of Kultis, where guerrillas supported by the East Coalition clash with regular troops of the West Alliance in a fierce struggle for dominance. However, when Cletus Grahame, a brilliant tactician and military scientist, intervenes in the events on Kultis, a new, unknown factor emerges in the centuries-long conflict between the superpowers.
