At Risk: A Massachusetts state investigator is called home from the National Forensic Academy in Tennessee. His boss is running for governor and plans to showcase a new crime initiative called At Risk - motto: 'Any crime, any time'. She aims to employ cutting-edge DNA technology in a twenty-year-old murder case. If her office solves the case, they'll all look good. However, her investigator is not so sure, and before he can voice his concerns, a shocking act of violence intervenes, affecting their lives and those around them. The Front: State Investigator Win Garano is tasked with investigating the murder of a woman over forty years ago. Assumed to be a victim of the Boston Strangler, Jamie Brolin was raped and left for dead in 1962. With no DNA and limited police records, the case leads Garano through archives, into the latest forensic innovations, and into partnership with officers at London's New Scotland Yard. As past and present collide, the tension mounts with every page.
