The publication "Narrative Modes in Czech Literature" presents an analysis of narrative discourse types, subjectivization of storytelling, narrative techniques, and the authentication of fictional worlds. The author formulates a theory of narrative text, applying it to selected prose works. The first theoretical chapter has been expanded, focusing on the theory of fictional worlds, which has been the author's primary interest for the past two decades. This work exemplifies the continuity of the structuralist approach to literary texts and can be regarded as a thorough application of the functional approach in literature.
