The book offers a transnational analysis of fiction surrounding the Arab uprisings, focusing on English, French, and German literature. Julia Wurr examines how these narratives commercialize Neo-Orientalist and securitized themes for the Western literary market. Through close readings of diverse authors, she identifies recurring tropes that perpetuate anti-Muslim imagery and explores the socio-political implications of insecurity, precarity, and affective masculinity.
