American-born artist Chris reexamines his understanding of family during a visit to his mother’s Caribbean homeland. After a personal tragedy disrupts his life, he seeks solace through painting and reflection on his loss and strained relationship with his father. However, he encounters a complex and unexpected “family,” each member with their own poignant stories, including a love triangle. These new connections aid his healing process, and he, in turn, supports them through his art. The narrative unfolds from various perspectives, creating a rich tapestry of unlikely love, friendship, and community, filled with surprises.
