Viac o knihe
Focusing on the music of Latin American and Caribbean immigrants in the U.S., this study explores how modernity shapes their musical practices through competing values. It examines themes such as language, cosmopolitanism, racial identities, and notions of belonging amidst globalization. By proposing a comparative method, the book delves into the relationships between immigrant music-making and minority groups in the U.S., emphasizing the role of aurality in understanding the cultural and emotional connections within music.
