Deepsix

In 2204, a scientific team was forced to evacuate Maleiva Ill due to tragedy and terror. Twenty-one years later, the chance to study this life-supporting planet is threatened as a rogue gas giant heads toward a collision with Deepsix. Priscilla “Hutch” Hutchins, a superluminal pilot for the Academy of Science and Technology, is the only qualified professional nearby. With less than three weeks before disaster strikes, she and a small team, including Randall Nightingale—a scapegoat from the original expedition—must explore the planet's surface to learn about its lifeforms and lost civilizations. Deepsix reveals hidden predators, ice-covered stone cities, and remnants of a primitive society that hint at advanced technology buried within the ruins and in orbit. As Hutch and her team investigate, they uncover increasingly complex puzzles and startling discoveries that raise more questions. Then disaster strikes: an earthquake destroys their only means of escape. As scientists and sightseers observe the impending doom from above, Hutch and her team must navigate the hostile environment of Deepsix, racing against time to find a way off the planet before it plunges into the depths of the gas giant.
