Through intensive fieldwork in an urban junior high school, the study examines the interplay between oral and written communication in students' daily lives. It analyzes various forms of expression, including storytelling, diary entries, and classroom discussions, to reveal how local events are narrated and re-narrated. This exploration provides insights into the significance of both oral and written texts in shaping students' experiences and understanding of their environment.
