Friendship, two adult daughters, success in his career and with women—Kris seems to have a good life, yet he feels trapped in the wrong body. In his mid-fifties, the pathology professor takes a sabbatical year to finally discover his identity and decide how to align his inner self with his outer appearance. However, his male biology brutally hinders him when he receives a devastating diagnosis of prostate cancer during a routine examination. Torn between coming out and choosing a treatment, Kris embarks on a journey to find clarity amidst his emotional turmoil. This road trip leads to unexpected and contrasting experiences: a perplexed brother, a surprisingly refined college friend, and support for his trans identity from an escort girl who becomes a friend. Most significantly, his encounter with Chloé, formerly Leopold, disrupts his world. As a mentor, she offers him a hopeful perspective until a life-altering event changes everything once again. Y's Revenge is a plea for diversity, illustrating that the self is not primarily determined by chromosomes.
