Viac o knihe
Focusing on the interplay between domestic and territorial factors, the book presents a novel theory on the causes of ethnic cleansing. It posits that non-ethnic domestic obstacles typically inhibit such violence, while territorial conflicts can dismantle these barriers, leading to ethnic cleansing. Through original statistical data and in-depth historical case studies from Central and Eastern Europe and the 1990s Bosnia, the author illustrates how socio-economic divisions can mitigate radicalism, contrasting with the empowerment of extremist factions during territorial wars. This comprehensive analysis is essential for scholars in comparative and international politics.
