Crime and Investigative Reporting in the UK

Focusing on the evolution of crime news reporting in the UK, this ethnographic study examines significant changes over the past 40 years, particularly post-Leveson Report and the strained relationship between the Metropolitan Police and mainstream media. It highlights the role of new investigative journalism non-profits in fostering better reporting practices with marginalized communities. However, the police still maintain tight control over the dissemination of policing news, limiting the media's capacity to challenge authority effectively.
