Viac o knihe
Exploring the teachings of Iamblichus, this study delves into the concept of theurgy, or "divine action," which plays a pivotal role in his interpretation of Platonism. Gregory Shaw highlights Iamblichus's unique perspective that contrasts with earlier Platonists by emphasizing the soul's descent into the body and its need for theurgic rites, divinely revealed, to achieve unity with the One. This work sheds light on the evolution of pagan spirituality during a transformative period leading up to the Christianization of the Roman Empire.
