Rejecting the notion of a single standard for national MPs' representation, the book explores how representatives engage beyond national borders. It empirically examines MPs' speech-making and attitudes in Austria, Germany, Ireland, and the UK, focusing on parliamentary debates related to key European treaties and the Eurozone crisis. Through qualitative interviews with members of relevant committees, the author uncovers a trend of Eurosceptic Europeanization, revealing how MPs from the Eurosceptic left often advocate for the interests of other EU citizens.
