For our drunken anti-hero, a YBA-style painter whose moment in the spotlight has long since faded, life is looking bleak. His curator girlfriend has dumped him; the only dealer with any time for him is the one who sells him drugs; and he's reduced to snaffling free drinks at endless private views. But his luck changes when he's offered a job as artist in residence at a neurological institute. Enthralled by the characters and conditions he encounters - and smitten by the beautiful amnesiac Emily - his thoughts turn to romance, as well as the possibility of reviving his moribund career with a neuro-inspired show. Meanwhile, all is not as it seems at the shiny new institute.
