For Colorado caterer Goldy Schulz, business is thriving, but her friend Marla warns her that "Success can kill you." Aware she needs to slow down, Goldy commits to doing so after her next event: a cocktail party for the Westside Mall's Elite Shoppers Club, featuring the Princess Without a Pricetag theme for high-spending customers. Hired by charming mall manager Barry Dean, Goldy faces a disaster when a truck nearly runs her over as she sets up. Despite being muddied and bruised, she begins the event with the help of her assistants, Julian and Liz. However, chaos ensues with a marital spat among guests, Barry's erratic behavior, and the aftermath of the truck incident. The situation escalates when Goldy discovers an old friend dead in a pile of shoes, stabbed with one of her new knives. With Julian accused of the murder, Goldy must clear his name by uncovering the real killer. She investigates the victim's connection to a powerful narcotic, a private investigator's involvement, and potential motives linked to a mall renovation or a love triangle. Juggling her catering duties and sleuthing, Goldy realizes this case will be one tough challenge, with a deadly conclusion looming.
