The Sanskrit Mahabharata, an ancient epic sacred to Hindus, is believed to be based on true events from the Indian subcontinent around five thousand years ago. Scholars regard it as the source for numerous regional versions, including the Draupadi cult, Villibharatam, Garhwal Pandav Lilas, Sarala Mahabharata, and various Telugu adaptations. The complexity and contradictions within the Mahabharata have inspired extensive scholarly research into its origins, historic authenticity, and evolution. Key areas of inquiry include its antiquity, the relationship between regional versions and the Sanskrit text, and the identification of interpolations. This book contributes to the discourse by positing that the core story of the Mahabharata is derived from the ancient Egyptian tale of Osiris and Isis. It argues that the regional versions are direct derivatives of this Egyptian narrative, with the Sanskrit Mahabharata being a scholarly construct based on these adaptations. This exploration is unique in suggesting Egyptian origins for the epic, despite existing correlations between Egyptian and Indian civilizations. The book systematically presents proofs for its claims, references earlier scholarship, and offers detailed discussions of relevant portions of various epics and myths. The methodologies used are also exemplified throughout the text.
