This is the tale of Ras Tyger, the jungle hero. Like Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan, he lives among the animals of the jungle and the people of his realm as a recognized lord and protector. However, as he matures into adulthood, he is increasingly tormented by questions about the inexplicable phenomena he encounters. What are the metallic birds that soar through the sky, and who are the death angels that pilot them? Who is this "God" to whom he must obey and who dominates him with omnipotence? When a beautiful girl arrives from beyond the mountains into his jungle kingdom, the struggle and search for his identity intensify. As his world gradually falls apart, the secrets begin to slowly unravel.
