Sometimes a terrible price must be paid to create true beauty. In London, a serial killer stalks the city, murdering women and displaying their grotesquely mutilated bodies in public places. The third victim has been found, and all the murders share common traits that present a puzzle for the police: a mysterious symbol is left at each crime scene. Each victim was in the killer's grasp for exactly 36 days, and all had a bird's beak stuffed in their throats.
