Viac o knihe
The faces, the hands, and what can be seen in the figures of Velázquez are of absolute reality; even when they want to appear better than they are. Under their ruffs, their puffed sleeves, their farthingales and wigs, or under the humility of the servant or the dwarf, the drunkard or the beggar, they are above all, human beings, similar to those who contemplate them in painting.
