La misura della felicità

Viac o knihe

As surprising as it is moving, this tale of transformation and second chances is an irresistible affirmation of why we read and love. A. J. Fikry's life has taken an unexpected turn; his wife has died, his bookstore is facing dismal sales, and his prized collection of Poe poems has been stolen. Isolating himself from the community on Alice Island, he distances himself from Chief Lambiase, the kind police officer; Ismay, his determined sister-in-law; and Amelia, the idealistic sales rep who refuses to be put off by A.J.'s bad attitude. Even the books in his store, once a source of joy, now serve as reminders of a rapidly changing world. However, everything shifts when a mysterious package arrives at the bookstore. This small but significant arrival offers A.J. a chance to reinvent his life and see things anew. The locals begin to notice the transformation, and Amelia starts to view her curmudgeonly client in a different light. The wisdom of the books rekindles A.J.'s passion, revitalizing his world. Yet, just as he begins to embrace this change, unexpected twists lead him to a version of life he never anticipated.
