In 334 B.C., after defeating the Persian army at the Granicus, Alexander and his troops march south, having conquered Ephesus. The ultimate challenge lies ahead: Halicarnassus, a city fortified to deter any attacker and linked to Alexander's past and strained relationship with his father. To prove himself, he must capture it. The city's defenders include his old adversary, Memnon of Rhodes, along with Orontobates and the Greek renegade, Ephialtes, who conspire to thwart Alexander’s ambitions. They reinforce the city and set a trap, determined to stop the "Macedonian Wolf" and shatter his dreams of conquest. As Alexander establishes his court near the city, his physician and childhood friend, Telamon, becomes embroiled in a web of murder and intrigue when a series of brutal killings suggests Persian infiltration. While Alexander prepares for a monumental battle, Telamon must navigate this chaos to uncover the traitors and safeguard his lord. Amidst the turmoil, Alexander remains shrewd, executing his own plans to outsmart his enemies, all while the stakes rise in a dramatic confrontation that will shape the course of history.
