Meanwhile, a serial killer known as the Artful Dodger is on the loose, preying on heroin addicts in Buffalo. Kurtz's only ally is Rigby King, a police detective and his former teenage love from Father Baker's Orphanage, who has her own motives for wanting to be close to him. As the clock ticks down, Kurtz must decipher Rigby's intentions—whether she aims to save him or see him imprisoned.
