Her delightful narratives and enchanting illustrations have become integral to childhood experiences. With the proceeds from her books, Potter purchased Hill Top, a farm in the English Lake District, where she became a farmer and award-winning sheep breeder. She also pioneered a merchandise program by patenting the first Peter Rabbit doll in 1903, leading to a diverse range of products that continue to expand globally. Upon her passing, Potter bequeathed 14 farms and over 4000 acres of Lake District land to the National Trust, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
