Viac o knihe
A masterful blend of Christian scholarship and thrilling adventure unfolds in a race to find the secret location of the Vera Cruz, the True Cross on which Christ was crucified, protected by an ancient brotherhood. Holy relics are vanishing from sacred sites worldwide, prompting the Vatican to act against thieves aiming to steal the remaining fragments of the True Cross. Dr. Ottavia Salina, a respected paleographer working in Vatican City, is tasked with deciphering strange tattoos found on an Ethiopian man's corpse, alongside three pieces of wood believed to be fragments of the Vera Cruz. With the help of the captain of the Pope's Swiss Guard and a renowned archaeologist from Alexandria, Dr. Salina uncovers a shocking truth: a secret brotherhood known as the Staurofilakes, led by a mysterious figure named Cato, has been hiding the True Cross and intends to gather all remaining fragments. The tattoos correspond to the Seven Deadly Sins and are part of an initiation ritual for the brotherhood. Discovering a connection to Dante's Divine Comedy, they use clues from the text as a roadmap, embarking on a global journey to Christianity's ancient capitals. As they travel from Rome to Antioch, they face unimaginable challenges that test their faith and lives, racing to uncover the secrets of the brotherhood and the location of the True Cross at great peril.
