The aim of this core module book within the frame of a European Master study programme of «European Perspectives on Social Inclusion» is to give an overview of the ethical and socio-political facets of social justice against the background of historical change, to focus on empirical studies regarding different concepts and perceptions of social justice in Europe, to outline new orientations and actions concerning social justice in the context of European politics and innovative movements of the civil society. Dieses Buch ist ein Kernmodul im Rahmen eines Europäischen Master-Studienprogrammes zu europäischen Perspektiven sozialer Inklusion. Es gibt einen Überblick über die ethisch-philosophischen und sozialpolitischen Facetten von Sozialer Gerechtigkeit im historischen Wandel, fokussiert auf empirische Untersuchungen zu Gerechtigkeitsvorstellungen und Gerechtigkeitswahrnehmungen in Europa und skizziert Neuorientierungen und Aktionen hinsichtlich Sozialer Gerechtigkeit im Zusammenhang europäischer Politik und innovativer Bewegungen der Zivilgesellschaft.

This EURO-MODULE Volume III represents an exemplary application of the previously published two modules. It has the following objectives: – to document and cautiously compare processes of research and reflection conducted commonly and participatorily by disabled people, students and professors on issues regarding the quality of life of disabled people, – to provide a platform for disabled people from four European countries (Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Ukraine), thereby giving them the opportunity to present their life stories and being heard as equal partners, – to give suggestions and to provide learning instruments/tools for further participatory practical research. Dieser EURO-MODUL-Band III versteht sich als ein beispielgebendes «Anwendungsprodukt» der vorangehenden Module I und II mit den Zielen, – von behinderten Menschen, Studenten und Dozenten gemeinsam und partnerschaftlich durchgeführte Reflexions- und Forschungsprozesse zu Fragen der Lebensqualität von behinderten/beeinträchtigten Menschen zu dokumentieren und diese behutsam zu vergleichen, – eine Plattform zu eröffnen, auf der sich behinderte Personen aus vier europäischen Ländern (Deutschland, Großbritannien, Schweden und Ukraine) mit Ausschnitten ihrer Lebensgeschichten als gleichberechtigte Partner Gehör verschaffen, – als Anregung, Lerninstrument/Werkzeugkoffer für weitere partizipatorische, anwendungsorientierte Forschung zu dienen.

This Euro-Module 2 focuses on research issues and future tasks with regard to improving the living conditions of disabled and disadvantaged people in different European settings. Goals: – To develop a shared «body of knowledge» concerning selected scientific research concepts, models and theories in different European countries – To widen the students’ understanding of the ethical and philosophical considerations connected with research into the quality of life of disabled people – To compare approaches in different European countries concerning the use of participant-research. This book contains contributions in English and German. Dieser Euro-Modul-Band II fokussiert Forschungsfragen und Zukunftsaufgaben hinsichtlich der Verbesserung von Lebensbedingungen von behinderten und benachteiligten Personen aus 3 europäischen Blickwinkeln. Ziele sind: – Entwicklung eines gemeinsamen «Wissenkorpus» hinsichtlich ausgewählter wissenschaftlicher Forschungskonzepte, Modelle und Theorien in verschiedenen europäischen Ländern – Erweiterung des Verständnisses der Studenten in Bezug auf ethische und philosophische Überlegungen im Zusammenhang mit Forschung zur Lebensqualität behinderter Menschen – Vergleich von Ansätzen verschiedener europäischer Länder hinsichtlich der Anwendung partizipatorischer Forschung. Dieses Buch enthält Beiträge in deutscher und englischer Sprache.

Based on an almost 20-year-long history of intensive collaboration and partnership between numerous universities in the European Union and several universities in Ukraine, this book contains presentations given at the international conference „Conditions of Meaningful Life - European / International Perspectives“ in May 2018 in the Ukraine at Classic Private University (CPU), Zaporizhzhya, and Taras Shevchenko National University (TSNU) Kyiv, bringing together academics and professionals from the European Union, the USA and Ukraine, in order to share and discuss common humanitarian values against the background of a current „world in turmoil“ or even a „world in shards“.
