Eine Untersuchung der Musik Messiaens aus musikwissenschaftlicher und theologischer Sicht
Über den französischen Komponisten und Organisten Olivier Messiaen gibt es inzwischen zahlreiche musikwissenschaftliche Untersuchungen. Da Messiaen sich selbst als gläubiger Katholik bekennt und sein musikalisches Schaffen als Ausdruck seines katholischen Glaubens darstellt, erscheint eine wissenschaftliche Untersuchung seines Werks aus theologischer Sicht äußerst wichtig. Diesbezüglich ist bisher jedoch wenig geschehen. Thomas Schrader leistet genau an diesem Punkt einen Beitrag, indem er drei exemplarische Werke Messiaens sowohl aus musikwissenschaftlicher als auch aus theologischer Perspektive in den Blick nimmt.
