Koncom devätnásteho storočia sa vo vodách svetových morí a oceánov začínajú diať podivuhodné veci. Na mnohých miestach „čosi“ poškodzuje ba aj potápa lode. Na verejnosti sa prevláda názor, že všetky tieto záhady má na svedomí neznáma morská príšera. Keď je raz napadnutá dôležitá medzinárodná loď, zistí sa že diera, ktorú údajne vytvorila príšera má tvar pravidelného trojuholníka. Na rozlúštenie tejto záhady je vyslaná loď Abraham Lincoln.
