    • The first ever survey of the pioneering feminist artist A comprehensive catalog on the work of New York artist Rosemary Mayer (1943-2014), Ways of Attaching provides an overview of the artist's work, moving from early conceptual experiments of the late 1960s through to textile sculptures and drawings made in the early 1970s, before focusing on propositional and durational performances and temporary monuments made from 1977 to 1982. Highlighting Mayer's formal interest in draping, knotting and tethering, Ways of Attaching focuses on the artist's process of constructing real and imagined networks and constellations, in which friends and historical figures feature in expressions of affinity and attachment. It additionally features facsimile reproductions of Mayer's writings and newly commissioned essays reflecting on her work and the influences of astronomy, feminism, the art scene in New York in the 1960s and '70s, poetry, religion and Renaissance painting.

    • Premiered in St. Petersburg in 1913, and written in “zaum”--a Russian Futurist nonsense language-- Victory over the Sun was a vastly ambitious opera, a collaboration between the poets Velimir Khlebnikov and Aleksei Kruchenykh, the composer and painter Mikhail Matyushin and the painter Kazimir Malevich (who made his legendary “Black Square” painting for the work). Anfang Gut. Alles Gut. documents a longterm project by an ever-expanding group of artists, musicians, architects and writers who, since 2008, have worked with the opera’s historical documentation and reception history to translate this mythic gesamtkunstwerk into the present. Katrin Bahrs, Thomas Baldischwyler, Tschilp, Nine Budde, Natalie Czech, Jean-Pascal Flavien, Kirsten Forkert, Emma Hedditch and Elizabeth Orr, Fox Hysen and Susanne M. Winterling, Heiko Karn and Katrin Mayer, Nicholas Matranga, Ruth May and Michaela Melián are among the many artists contributing to the book.

For the exhibition and the book, Dani Gal visited the occupants of the Bijlmermeer district and journalist Vincent Dekker for the purpose of entering into a dialogue with them on the plane crash and the reassembled everyday life in the reconstructed building. Based on comprehensive research, oriented by the atmospheres and worlds of subjective memories and experiences, the book gives an overview of various occurrences and stories woven into a complex weave of abstract and formal connections.
