Based on the methodological approach of a trend- and key factor analysis of transnational terrorism and processed on the virtual platform "Foresight Strategy Cockpit" (FSC), the volume seeks to examine what potential future variants of transnational terrorism may evolve. Focusing on the latest structural developments in the sphere of politically or religiously motivated violence, the handbook considers the tactical, strategic, and not least the systemic dimension of terrorism. Welche Überlegungen stehen hinter Machthandlungen, welche realen Machtkonstellationen beeinflussen ihrerseits die instrumentelle Vernunftlogik als auch die daraus resultierende Handlungsstrategie der Regierenden? Wie ist die Struktur herrschaftlicher Machtrationalität zu beschreiben? Auf einer Spurensuche nach dem »soziologisch amorphen« (Max Weber) Phänomen Macht in den Denkkategorien des Thukydides, Machiavellis und bei Michel Foucault werden diese fundamentalen Fragestellungen behandelt. Dabei kommt die kontextuelle Methodologie der Cambridge School zur Anwendung. Neben der heterogenen Struktur politischer Macht werden interdependente Machtkonstellationen und die komplexe Funktionsdynamik von Machtprozessen komparativ analysiert. Die jeweiligen Implikationen herrschaftlicher Macht werden zudem unter zeitgenössische machttheoretische Ansätze subsumiert.
