KlappentextThis book contains the proceedings of two long-standing workshops: The 10th International Workshop on Business Process Modeling, Development and Support, BPMDS 2009, and the 14th International Conference on Exploring Modeling Methods for Systems Analysis and Design, EMMSAD 2009, held in connection with CAiSE 2009 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in June 2009. The 17 papers accepted for BPMDS 2009 were carefully reviewed and selected from 32 submissions. The topics addressed by the BPMDS workshop are business and goal-related drivers; model-driven process change; technological drivers and IT services; technological drivers and process mining; and compliance and awareness. Following an extensive review process, 16 papers out of 36 submissions were accepted for EMMSAD 2009. These papers cover the following topics: use of ontologies; UML and MDA; ORM and rule-oriented modeling; goal-oriented modeling; alignment and understandability; enterprise modeling; and patterns and anti-patterns in enterprise modeling.

 - Focusing on Object-Role Modeling (ORM), this comprehensive guide offers in-depth instruction for transforming expert knowledge into effective database designs. It serves as a valuable resource for systems analysts, information modelers, database designers, administrators, and programmers, ensuring the accuracy and efficacy of databases. The second edition stands out by providing advanced insights beyond basic concepts, making it essential for professionals involved in database development and management.
- Object-Role Modeling Fundamentals- A Practical Guide to Data Modeling with ORM - 194 stránok

 - Object-Role Modeling (ORM) offers a straightforward, fact-based approach to data modeling, focusing on how objects interact within relationships. It utilizes attribute-free structures called fact types to represent all relevant information, accommodating unary, binary, and ternary relationships. This method enhances clarity and validation through natural expression, making it more semantically stable compared to traditional attribute-based models like Entity Relationship Modeling (ER) and Unified Modeling Language (UML). ORM simplifies the data modeling process for any business domain.
- Written as a sequel to the author's previous book Object-Role Modeling Fundamentals, this book briefly reviews the fundamentals of ORM, and then discusses additional topics such as model reports generation, vocabulary glossaries, relational mapping options, annotated relational schemas, schema optimization, and data modeling patterns.
- This book contains the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business Process Modeling, Development and Support (BPMDS 2011) and the 16th International Conference on Exploring Modeling Methods for Systems Analysis and Design (EMMSAD 2011), held together with the 23rd International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE 2011) in London, UK, in June 2011. The 22 papers accepted for BPMDS were selected from 61 submissions and cover a wide spectrum of issues related to business processes development, modeling, and support. They are grouped into sections on BPMDS in practice, business process improvement, business process flexibility, declarative process models, variety of modeling paradigms, business process modeling and support systems development, and interoperability and mobility. The 16 papers accepted for EMMSAD were chosen from 31 submissions and focus on exploring, evaluating, and enhancing current information modeling methods and methodologies. They are grouped in sections on workflow and process modeling extensions, requirements analysis and information systems development, requirements evolution and information systems evolution, data modeling languages and business rules, conceptual modeling practice, and enterprise architecture.
