Historie a konstrukce amerického stíhacího letounu Mustang nasazeného ve 2.světové válce a sloužícího ještě v Korejské válce. Legendární Mustang byl vyvinut ve Spojených státech v roce 1940 pro britské královské letectvo. Letouny, původně používané na hloubkové lety nad územím Německa, prošly velkými úpravami tak, aby mohly vykonávat i dálkové stíhací lety v akcích ve Středomoří a v Tichomoří. Sehrály významnou roli téměř na všech bojištích 2. světové války a byly nasazeny i v Korejské válce v letech 1950-1953.
