The research explores the optomechanical interactions in whispering-gallery mode microcavities, revealing their potential for non-magnetic non-reciprocity and the development of all-optically controlled multifunctional photonic devices. It details the interaction between optical and mechanical modes, enabling non-reciprocal light storage with significant acoustic wave lifetimes. Additionally, a high-frequency phase-sensitive heterodyne vibrometer capable of mapping vibration patterns in acoustic devices is introduced, highlighting the promising applications of optomechanical systems in information processing.
