    William Healey Dall bol americký prírodovedec a jeden z prvých vedeckých bádateľov vnútrozemia Aljašky. Preslávil sa svojimi opismi mnohých morských mäkkýšov pacifického severozápadu Ameriky a mnoho rokov bol poprednou americkou autoritou v odbore živých i fosílnych mäkkýšov. Jeho rozsiahly vedecký prínos zahŕňal aj ornitológiu, zoológiu stavovcov i bezstavovcov, antropológiu, oceánografiu a paleontológiu. Venoval sa tiež meteorologickým pozorovaniam na Aljaške pre Smithsonian Institution.
