Adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are inherently entitled. The declaration arose directly from the experience of the II World War.

This publication is the result of theoretical reflections and empirical studies carried out by the United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (UN-INSTRAW). It explores what other issues, beyond remittances alone, constitute strategic topics for deeper analysis.
