Exploring the rise of incarceration rates in the U.S., this book delves into Florida's faith and character-based correctional institutions (FCBIs) as a proposed solution to prison overcrowding. While marketed as inclusive, these facilities are predominantly Protestant and align with Christian right politics. Through in-depth ethnographic research, the author examines the complex dynamics faced by inmates, staff, and administrators, revealing how FCBIs exemplify the intersection of conservative Christian values and neoliberal economic principles.

This Element offers a historical and critical analysis of entheogenic communities. It examines the production of entheogenic groups and considers the impact of historical factors. This Element recognizes that these communities are culturally conditioned, socially constructed, and historically contingent.
