The Austrian artist Maria Lassnig (1919-2014) was one of the most important painters of the twentieth century. This timely publication spans her prolific career from the 1940s to her later life. Lassnig developed a singular aesthetic, making boldly expressive, brightly coloured oil paintings with human figures always at the centre of her compositions.
