Galéria Saatchi poskytuje inovatívne fórum pre súčasné umenie, prezentuje diela prevažne nepoznaných mladých umelcov alebo medzinárodných tvorcov, ktorých práca nebola v Spojenom kráľovstve často alebo vôbec vystavovaná. V posledných rokoch rastie záujem o súčasné umenie v Británii aj v zahraničí, čo sa odráža aj v rastúcej návštevnosti galérií. Mnohí umelci, ktorí sa tu objavia, nie sú spočiatku známi ani verejnosti, ani komerčnému umeleckému svetu, a galéria im tak slúži ako odrazový mostík k medzinárodnej kariére.
This book highlights painting as a core form of artistic expression, exploring its significance amidst diverse artistic possibilities. It delves into the German tradition, focusing on key figures like Martin Kippenberger and Jorg Immendorff, as well as the innovative work from the Leipzig school.
UK/RAINE presents the work of 30 selected young artists who reveal shared concerns and challenges despite the very different socio-political and artistic environments in which they work. It is clear that the dynamic of the street has infused the Ukrainian artists' work. For the UK artists, it is pluralism and difference that sets the tone. With written contributions from Nigel Hurst, Oleksandr Soloviov and Nick Hackworth the works are presented in fi e categories: installation, new media (including video and photography), painting, sculpture and street art. UK/RAINE is an exciting refl ction of the contemporary art scene in both countries and a collaboration between Saatchi Gallery and the Firtash Foundation.
