Examining the influence of Neoliberalism on marketisation in Higher Education, this book explores the increasing reliance on market mechanisms within educational sectors globally. It highlights the common belief that Neoliberalism drives this shift towards competition and free markets, while also addressing the lack of consensus on its definition. The author contends that although Neoliberalism provides insight into the evolving landscape of higher education, it is insufficient as a standalone explanation and does not universally apply across all contexts.

Higher Education sectors across the world have experienced a gradual process of marketisation. This book offers a new interpretation on why and how marketisation has taken place within England and questions the rationale for further marketisation of Higher Education.
